The Trolltunga-Preikestolen express coach offer a daily transfer service between Hardangerfjorden and Lysefjorden along the charming landscape of the Ryfylke Discovery Route.
Travel comfortably to some of Norways most spectacular fjord landscapes - hikes to Preikestolen and Trolltunga are now easy accessible by bus between Hardangerfjord and Preikestolen with daily departures from July 1st to August 31st.
Travelling from Hardangerfjord to Preikestolen
Trolltunga-Preikestolen express coach starts in Tyssedal and continues along the Sørfjord to Odda, and towards Ryfylke, a beautiful journey in a spectacular fjord landscape with a typical fjord ferry crossing from Nesvik to Hjelmeland. You may sit back and enjoy the landscape on the way to the Preikestolhytta (Pulpit Rock) parking. Departures along the route (see itinerary below).

Travelling from Preikestolen to Hardangerfjord
Trolltunga-Preikestolen-ekspressen departs from Preikestolen parking at 14:45 for a comfortable journey through beautiful landscapes to Ryfylke and Hardanger. If you need to travel from Stavanger to the preikestolen, buy your ticket on the ferry from Stavanger to Tau, then on the Tide Bus from Tau to the Pulpit Rock parking. It is possible to get off the bus along the way (see itinerary below).

Hiking route to Trolltunga
Duration: approx. 8-10 hours return.
Length: approx. 11 km one way, the ascent is about 900 meters (2,900 ft.).
Season: mid-June to mid-September.
There is a marked hiking trail from the parking place in Skjeggedal to Trolltunga. Along the trail there are signs showing the distance left to Trolltunga. When starting in Skjeggedal there is a steep ascent up to Mågelitopp. Then relatively flat before a new ascent after 2.5 km. Undulating terrain after 4 km until reaching Trolltunga.
The hiking trail is in the high mountains, and requires good physical condition. Plan well and start the hike early in the day. There is no mobile phone coverage along the trail. Prepare well in advance. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended, bring warm and waterproof clothing, food, water, map and compass. Check the weather forecast for the area. Hiking route to Preikestolen
Duration: approx. 4 hours return t/r.
Length: approx. 6 km return, ascent approx. 350 meters.
Season: April - October.
The trail is well marked and the terrain slightly hilly with a height difference of 350 meters. Along the path you will find possibilities to picnic and have a bath in the fresh water. The hike is approximately 6 kilometers, estimated hiking time one way is 2 hours. Please note that there is no guide and that you walk on own risk. We recommend that you bring enough food and drink. Please note that the tour requires hiking shoes and hiking clothing. Check weather forecast for the area.
